Cities of the future are no longer only digital and technologically advanced, but increasingly sustainable, socially responsible, and economically resilient. By adopting these criteria, the Municipality of Piraeus designs actions that aim to improve the quality of life of its residents, with respect for the environment and the promotion of social policies. The selection of actions has been made taking into account the existing digital maturity of the Municipality, as well as the relevant initiatives that are already underway or being planned. 

The classification of actions into Pillars was considered appropriate based on the nature and scope of the Municipality of Piraeus’ interventions, in order to clearly reflect the key structural elements of the Action Plan and the way in which it will be implemented. None of the actions constitutes a fragmented service; on the contrary, all operate as complementary components towards achieving the central objective: the Digital Transformation of the Municipality of Piraeus and the creation of a city that is increasingly friendly to both citizens and the business community.
